Somewhat belatedly, I should take a moment to thank my cousin, Susan, for organizing our long distance baby shower. Sue and I are as close as sisters (especially since we don't have any actual sisters), we're only 9 months apart in age, we were fortunate to grow up living close enough to see each other regularly, and of course we have the mutual experience and love of our family vacations in Canada each summer. Essentially, Susan is pretty much the only person who knows every flaw, wart, and annoying habit of mine...and she loves me anyway. :-)
Sue is also one of my major resources for this pregnancy and upcoming parenthood, since she recently gave birth to her adorable 4th child, Henry, last spring. I can't express how grateful I am to have her to lean on with all of my questions and concerns and fear and joy, since I'm pretty certain she's the only one who will take my near-constant phone calls and emails without getting TOO annoyed.
So in case you were wondering who sent those cute monkey shower invitations, I thought I would introduce Susan with this post. Hope you don't mind, Sue!! Big hugs and lots of love for all you've done to help make this experience fun and as calm as it's possible for me to be...which isn't very calm, but you know how I am!
